Advancing Care Excellence for Seniors (ACES)
ACES, Advancing Care Excellence for Seniors, is a collaborative project between the National League for Nursing and Community College of Philadelphia to enrich gerontology in prelicensure nursing programs. The goals of the initiative are to:
1) develop a set of minimum standards of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to care for older adults for pre-licensure nursing students;
2) disseminate and publicize minimum standards and existing resources through the NLN website and faculty development workshops; and
3) enhance student expertise in gerontological nursing care by incorporating appropriate content into clinical nursing education through the innovative use of simulations and unfolding case studies.
